My in box folder mistakenly shows (1) unopened email at all times...can't change it. Why?

if you are using yahoo... where you see all your folders on the right there is the words add-edit, "click" edit this will show you your counts and where the unread email is. I will almost bet you that it is spam, for some reason spam has the ability to hit your box and you not even notice it.
