What kind of cover-up/shrug would look best with a black satin strapless dress?

I am going to an evening wedding and I got a black satin strapless dress to wear- it's supposed to be kind of chilly and possibly rainy so I would like to get some sort of cover or shrug...I went ahead and just got two yards of black satin and was thinking of using that...i don't know i am just lost! also would that look too "goth"? any other fabric suggestions?
