I threw the collection basket on the floor at our church and stomped on it? Was that the right thing to do?

Our pastor gave a sermon about Jesus throwing the money changers out of the temple. When it came time for the church offering, I threw the collection basket on the floor and stomped on it. I also made a lot of noise. I think most people were in agreement with me because they kind of looked at me. Then I walked out and went home. I haven't heard from anyone at the church. I hope they are not mad.
